Grace Kwon, DO
Dr. Kwon is a psychiatrist who holds two medical board certifications in general Adult Psychiatry and Addiction Psychiatry. She grew up in sunny southern California, attended UCLA as an undergraduate with a major in Psychobiology. She continued her studies at Western University in Pomona for medical school. She completed an internship in internal medicine, a general adult psychiatry residency at Harbor UCLA, and continued a sub-specialty fellowship in Addiction Psychiatry at the Yale School of Medicine.
Dr. Kwon understands the importance of your autonomy and ability to make informed decisions about your health. She conceptualizes diagnosis and treatment from a holistic point of view. She has training in many different treatment modalities including medication management, acupuncture, cognitive behavioral therapy, psychotherapy, motivational interviewing, family and couples therapy.
While completing her fellowship at Yale, she helped develop a curriculum for counselors about working with patients who have co-occurring addiction and chronic pain. She has authored portions of an instruction book for clinicians titled Motivational Interviewing for Clinical Practice.
Dr. Kwon is passionate about helping those who are struggling with addictions and mental health problems. Her goal is to work collaboratively with the patient so that they can live a fulfilling and functional life.
