Dr. Michelle McGuire is an energetic and compassionate Clinical and Spiritual Psychological Assistant, dedicated to providing exceptional care, and creative treatment plans for adults suffering with mental health disorders. Dr. McGuire utilizes a complex integration of knowledge, intuition and emotional intelligence aimed at accounting for all present and historical factors, which bring the patient into care. She has extensive experience and training in treating trauma, depression, anxiety, substance use and personality disorders. Dr. McGuire combines a wide range of DBT, CBT, Trauma-Informed Care, Solution Focused Therapy and Motivational Interviewing strategies in guiding patients to successful outcomes in the therapeutic process. She believes therapy is a collaborative process that can foster opportunities for self-discovery, personal growth, and healing.
Prior to joining Harbor Psychiatry and Mental Health, Dr. McGuire spent 5 years working for the County of San Diego, completing her internships while specializing in Crisis Intervention and the treatment of PTSD. Dr. McGuire completed a Doctoral Degree in Clinical Psychology at Ryokan College in 2018. She also holds a Masters in Spiritual Psychology from the University of Santa Monica, and a Masters in Community Counseling from the University of Akron.
