Dr. Mary Berst, Ph.D., is a licensed psychologist committed to helping her clients progress toward psychological and emotional well-being. Dr. Berst utilizes evidenced-based interventions providing a safe, supportive, and professional environment to help her clients achieve psychological balance and improved mental health.
Dr. Berst specializes in the treatment of mental health disorders including, depression, anxiety, and PTSD as well as, co-occurring addiction issues. Dr. Berst provides individual and couple therapy utilizing a variety of modalities of treatment including, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectic Behavioral Therapy, Somatic Therapy, and Structural Family Therapies.
Dr. Berst began her practice in community mental health, helping individuals struggling with mental health issues that contributed to homelessness and estrangement from family and friends. As an Associate Program Director for a nationally known organization of inpatient and outpatient dual diagnosis centers, Dr. Berst established and managed therapeutic programs for people struggling with mental health issues associated with the disease of addiction and substance abuse. Dr. Berst used her experience to create, develop, and train programs and curricula resulting in successful treatment planning and recovery outcomes.
Dr. Berst received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Organizational Leadership from Biola University, La Mirada, CA. She then completed her Master of Science in Counseling Psychology from Capella University, Minneapolis, MN, and Doctorate of Philosophy degree in Psychology at Northcentral University, Prescott Valley, AZ. Dr. Berst completed her pre-doctoral internship at Morongo Basin Counseling and Recovery Center and her post-doctoral internship at Dual Diagnosis.
Dr. Berst is confident in helping her clients identify treatment goals, resolve conflicts in relationships, and embark on a path to self-discovery and personal growth. Ultimately these self-improvements help her clients progress towards achieving a more productive and balanced life.
