Ando Muneno, PA-C

Ando Muneno is a Board Certified Physician Assistant and believes in empowering his patients on their health journey through education and collaboration. Ando completed his undergraduate degree in journalism and mass communication at Arizona State University, Arizona, and graduated with Summa Cum Laude Honors. He then completed his physician assistant training at George Washington University, Washington DC, where he obtained both a master of public health policy and a master of science in health sciences.

Ando’s public health training makes him a strong advocate for the holistic treatment of mental health problems. He emphasizes a collaborative treatment plan that integrates all aspects of a patient’s life from their living situation to their interpersonal relationships, to their chronic or acute health problems. He believes that by addressing a patient’s determinants of health he can help provide a strong foundation for other therapies. He has a particular interest in the treatment of mood disorders, chronic pain conditions, post-traumatic stress disorder, attention deficit disorder, and autism spectrum disorders. Additional areas of expertise include management of treatment-refractory depression with IV and intranasal ketamine as well as treatment of postpartum depression with IV Zulresso.

Ando has a unique background and personal history. Prior to working in mental health, Ando worked in Orthopedic and Spine Care where he gained extensive experience in the treatment and management of chronic pain conditions. He has also worked as a short-order cook, United States Navy sailor, journalist, and physician assistant. He believes in being open with his patients and using his own diverse life experiences to gain new insight into their condition. He seeks always to uphold the following lines from the Hospital Corpsman Creed: “ I hold the care of the sick and injured to be a privilege and a sacred trust…”.
