Helen Kienzle, Ph.D.

Dr. Helen Kienzle, Ph.D., is a licensed clinical psychologist devoted to helping her clients attain optimum well-being and balanced, fulfilling lives. Dr. Kienzle utilizes an integrative approach that provides healing therapeutic processes in a safe, supportive, and professional environment to help clients achieve psychological fitness and improved mental health.
Dr. Kienzle specializes in the treatment of mental health disorders such as anxiety, depression, PTSD, and co-occurring addiction issues. Dr. Kienzle provides individual, couples, and family therapy utilizing various modalities of treatment including Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy. Dr. Kienzle is an EMDR-certified therapist with specific experience in the treatment of trauma.

Dr. Kienzle began her focus on helping addicts, alcoholics, and their families recover by developing clinical programming and clinical operational practices. As Program Director and Director of Clinical Compliance and Programming for two nationally known organizations of inpatient and outpatient dual diagnosis treatment centers. Dr. Kienzle established and managed therapeutic formulas and strategies enhancing her practical experience working with the mental health issues associated with the disease of addiction and substance use disorders. Dr. Kienzle has used her experience to create programs and curricula suited for optimum treatment planning and successful recovery applications.

Dr. Kienzle received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from California State University, Northridge. She then completed her Master of Arts and Doctorate of Philosophy degrees in Clinical Psychology at the California School of Professional Psychology. Dr. Kienzle has completed pre-doctoral internships at the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health and BHC Alhambra Hospital.

Dr. Kienzle is confident that with willingness and resolve, positive mental health is achievable and attainable. Dr. Kienzle will help foster personal growth through acceptance and self-exploration, guiding a client’s journey to a happier, healthier life.
