Jennifer Tustison, PMHNP, FNP
As a psychiatric practitioner, Jennifer Tustison respects that true mental health is multi-faceted, ever-evolving, and unique to each individual. In order to best serve her patients, Jennifer has completed a broad education that includes several specialized pieces of training. Her practice is firmly grounded in an understanding of neurobiological principles and evidence-based practices informed by her Bachelor’s in Biology from UC San Diego and her Master’s in Nursing from the University of San Diego. She is double board-certified as both a Family Practice and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse practitioner which enables her to discuss and evaluate each patient’s concerns from a mind-body-based paradigm.
Jennifer makes it a priority to stay current on emerging psychiatric modalities such as psychogenomic testing and the use of intranasal and IV ketamine in treatment-refractory psychiatric conditions. At the same time, she has seen her patients derive benefit from more holistic approaches, which has motivated her to obtain several certifications in mindfulness and meditation techniques as well as earn an invitation to a fellowship in Integrative Psychiatry which she is in the process of completing. She feels privileged to have the opportunity to collaborate with her patients and offer them various tools as they pursue greater levels of health and well-being.
