Marsha Hewlett, PsyD
Dr. Marsha Hewlett has been providing psychotherapy in clinical practice for approximately 30 years, working with individuals struggling with depression, anxiety, and relational difficulties. Her current focus is on treating adults and mature adolescents.
In addition to her clinical work, she has served as an Adjunct Professor at Pepperdine University’s Graduate School of Psychology, an instructor for psychiatric residents at the University of California, Irvine, and a faculty member at The New Center for Psychoanalysis. She has also worked in the field of forensic psychology and served as an Expert for the Board of Psychology through September 2025. She believes psychotherapy offers a meaningful opportunity to address challenges such as depression, anxiety, intimacy issues, infidelity, eating disorders, and addiction.
Dr. Hewlett recognizes that current emotional distress often stems from loss, family dysfunction, childhood trauma, and other unresolved experiences. Her therapeutic approach emphasizes compassionate listening within a safe, confidential, and nonjudgmental environment. Through this process, both therapist and patient work together to understand spoken and unspoken experiences, explore emotional roots, and alleviate the burdens of the past. She guides individuals toward greater emotional freedom, improved coping, healthier relationships, and the ability to live more fully in the present. Psychotherapy, in her view, is a journey of loosening long-held constrictions and moving toward one’s fullest potential.
